2006 - Messages from soldiers:
"I feel like Santa distributing the packages. I received them in spurts, so the first batch I gave to a couple Soldiers and to our interpreters. I discreetly dumped second batch out on a table and left. I came back 20 minutes later and everything was gone.
You would have laughed when I brought out the last package tonight. We were having a barbecue, so everybody was there. A Soldier who had a knife made everybody stay away as he opened it. He joked, "I have a knife..stay away!" That gave him the first shot at the package. Once he got what he wanted, everything was gone in seconds.
Thank you so much. The packages are really appreciated. There is nothing like spending a tough day outside the wire and coming back to packages from home. It's a real morale booster."

We received all 8 packages...thanks again...There isn't anything left of them. I've attached a couple more pictures, the guy pulling the funny face is one of our interpreters who also grabbed some of the goodies.
Here's a funny story. One of our interpreters grabbed a yo-yo that was in one of the packages.
He'd never played with one before, but he wanted to learn. Nobody told him that you had to tie a sliding knot, so he tied a regular knot around his finger with the string. We ended up having to cut the string to get it off his finger. Thanks again.

"Some pictures taken today after our flight ... including some of the boys enjoying your salsa, jalapenos, and dip. We were so burned out on mess hall food, this was our dinner."
