2008 - Messages from soldiers
Hi!!! It was good to get an email from you. :) I would have replied sooner, but I was at another PB (patrol Base) with my Chaplain. We are able to get stuff out to the soldiers that are outside the wire at patrol bases and stuff like that. For them, they enjoy magazines, snacks, candy (some of them do not have a DFAC (cafeteria) so they fix their own food, so they enjoy getting something that can be fixed in a microwave or little oven.
For the people on the FOB, I have received numerous requests for underwear, bras, white socks, green uniform socks, tan uniform shirts, and twin size sheets for the beds. Snacks are also asked for. If you have any other questions, feel free to email me back. Thanks again for everything.

Nancy,
Hi. Thanks so much for all of your support. We enjoy and use everything you send us. In particular the guys like getting shower gels and shaving products. A lot of people send female geared products and the guys like to know someone is looking out for them too :) I know everyone loves the Girl Scout cookies and everyone has their favorite. Thanks

"We could use one toaster that way I could place it in our common area for everyone to use. PT Gear!! YES! I have been having a hard time getting PTs here. For some reason they do not keep Mediums in stock so all my PTs are huge. I know some of the other females have the same problem as me.
Thank you sooo much. Flip Flops are a must here. I never walked around bare-footed in my room or in the shower trailer. Thank you soooo much!

Dear Sir/Ma'am
I just want to take the time say thank you. It is a blessing to have people back at home thinking and praying for us. This is why I'm proud to serve. I'm sure you hear many things from the soldiers you send packages to. Fortunately we are relatively safe since our unit doesn't have to go out side the wire (out side the air base). But being that we are a level 3 hospital, we see the damage first hand. We will be sharing your gift to the soldiers that come through here. Don't worry, good things do happen here even if the press never mentions them. We build good relationships with the locals and they depend greatly on our support.

Dear Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas, Thank you so much for the box of cookies. I took the box to the room where all of my guys were hanging out and half the box was gone in a record 5 min. So from my guys And myself Thank You very very much.

Thank you for all you done for all of us. We greatly appriciate all that you have done for us an giving us. The support that are fellow Americans are showing an giving us is greatly appriciated. We know that not all people agree with the war an what the govrment chooses to do, but we are glad that they don't let that stop them from showing support to us. Personally, I thank you for the box of cookies. It has made a lot of fellow soldiers happier an even made one that has had some problems put a llitte smile on his face. I am greatful for you all, an feel blessed that you care as much as you do.

I received your box today. From the Soldiers of 515th Trans Co and I, thank you for the box of cookies. It put a smile on some Soldiers face and lifted some spirits. Some Soldiers rarely receives packages, so the arrival of the cookies was helpful. Let everyone in your organization and supporters know that we appreciate all the support from everyone. Thanks again.

Thanks for sending the 6 boxes. We received them this week. Thank you Nancy for your kindness and all your group for supporting us and sending boxes. The soldiers get so excited over the boxes ...
We can give as many stockings or bags you want to send. We have many local children that would be so excited to get them. The soldiers have touched many hearts and made many friends with the local Iraqi population by just giving treats and supplies to the children.
Thank you all again for all your kindness you have shown us.
God bless you all and your families.

Thanks again for everything you do. We have approx 50 in our platoon and a total of 180 in the whole unit with us, so if you want to send about 200 or so stockings, we will pass them out. That is so thoughtful of you guys to do something like that. We welcome anything you guys want to send our way and appreciate all y'all do. Thanks for all the support. Sandy

Ms. Nancy,
I just wanted to tell you and your Cadets again how wonderful you all are for us Soldiers. I received all 15 boxes of Christmas Stockings today and after 18 years of being a tough-minded Soldier, I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. We will have our company Christmas party on the 19th and I will have all the gifts there for the Soldiers. I will take many pictures and email them to you as soon as I can. As I look at our Soldiers, young and old, you can see by there actions and expressions that this is a tough time of the year away from the ones they love. Your gifts of joy will bring smiles and laughter as we think of families, friends, Airborne Angel Cadets, and the reasons why we serve!
I hope all of your homes are filled with excitement, happiness, and love. You all represent the principles on which our country stands and I will be forever grateful.
Very Respectfully, Michael
