2014 Letters and Emails from U.S. troops
In recent days our team received a number of care packages that you had a part in preparing. There were several toiletries, snacks, notes/cards, games, books, movies, etc. We can tell you put a lot of thought into the things that would be meaningful to us. To receive these during the holidays is a big morale boost especially as we are a small team in a remote part of the country where we don't have the opportunity to purchase such things. You made our Christmas more enjoyable. Please thank your entire team of volunteers and donors for their time and investment in us. To know we are so well supported by people like you makes the time away from home and family more bearable.
God bless you and Happy Holidays!
Respectfully, Maj, USAF, Dec 2014
ALL received today! INCREDIBLE! It's like Christmas coming early! My Troopers who helped me load them in were in awe to know that so many Patriotic Americans like you and your supporters care so much! You all are a vital part of mission success! May God richly bless you!

First of all I would like to say a very big THANK YOU from the ________, there is nothing better for a deployed Soldier than knowing there are still great Patriotic Americans that support us and still believe in us. The men, women, and children that sponsor, donate, and organize the Airborne Angel Cadets raise the morale and deeply touch the hearts of our Soldiers.
This morning I received a message from our mail clerk saying that I had five boxes to pick up from the mail room. When I went down there to pick them up I was taken aback by the size of these things. Thank you so much. Everything will be distributed to the men and women of the ______ so they can enjoy a Merry Christmas away from home. Here is my plan…I will be dressing up as Santa Claus (with the help of a few pillows) and we will have a Christmas Gathering on the 24th at which point Santa Claus will hand out stockings and presents to deserving Soldiers so they will have something to open on Christmas morning.
Once again Thank you Nancy, you guys have just brought Christmas to the troops and we are very grateful.

I currently have all of the boxes you guys sent us and the Soldiers of the 4th Sustainment Brigade will be having a fantastic Christmas because of you all at Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas.

"The troops are having fun with the snacks and all of the personal care items. We are extremely appreciative of your hard work in proving care packages for us over here in Afghanistan ... My Battalion Commander ... would love to show the Battalion’s appreciation to your organization for all you have done and continue to do for us, by sending a 'Certificate of Appreciation.' ... Thanks again for everything you all continue to do for us and may the Lord God bless the work of your hands."

"We all sleep on beds, but some of the mattresses are so bad the coils are showing or sticking out (like mine) in the corners and edges. So, some sort of egg crate pillow top thing for the mattress would be really awesome."

"We do have PX access, but it runs out of stuff way too often ... There is no peanut butter here to buy at all"
Soldier in Afghanistan - Summer 2014
"Thank you so much for your support. It means so much to have people back home who care about all of us and are willing to take time out of their busy lives to let us know someone back home is thinking about us."

"I wanted to thank you again for all the support you provided our unit. Having deployed several times already, it is sometimes very hard to focus on the mission due to missing home, but you guys were able to raise the morale of a lot of our Marines and Sailors out here. You truly are Angels. God Bless and please pass our appreciation to all your personnel that take the time to help bring a smile to our Marines and Sailors."

Dear Airborne Angels of Texas,
Three years ago, I saw Soldiers become the beneficiaries of your generosity. I worked as a Battalion Chaplain in a northern region of Afghanistan with the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade. It was amazing to watch Soldiers realize that somebody outside their own unit realized that they were there and cared for their condition. I am now assigned to a Combat Support Hospital at Fort Hood and we anticipate deployment to both Kuwait and Afghanistan in the next few months.

Our biggest "sellers" (giving out care package donations) are Jerky, Seeds, hand sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, loofas, socks and dental floss.
If your organization wouldn't mind, we have a morale area set up for our troops to come relax ... we supply lots of coffee, cocoa and tea to them. We are in need of cups and paper towels/napkins for this and would appreciate any help, if possible. -- Please don't feel any pressure to accommodate this request. :)
