2016 - Letters and Emails from U.S. Troops
Iraq: "My time on (undisclosed) has come to a close, I can’t say that I will miss the ‘wonderful’ chow or the fact that I had to sleep on a cot! I will also not miss the fact that the MCX (PX, store) was closed for several days in a row and now has reduced hours until they can get operations back on their feet. The care packages have gone a long way in filling the gap with providing Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines here with comforts of home and needed hygiene items. ... Everything has been appreciated to an extent that most people cannot imagine, Thank You, once again for all the support, time and efforts you have put forth!"
Iraq: "The temp is constantly above 115 degrees, but we are very used to it. The Marines and Sailors are doing well and morale is high. I thank you once again for your support and please tell everyone who volunteers that they are our heros!!!! You make life much easier out here for us all and it gives the Marines even more purpose to stand on that wall and do what they do."
Mideast: "The team works long hours, but sure get big smiles on their faces when care packages are delivered. I'm just happy to know there are folks at home thinking of us."
Iraq: "Sorry but you caught me while I was out doing battlefield circulation again. The Marines and sailors cannot thank you enough for what you are doing. We will always welcome another set of boxes at the end of the month. .... we are just happy to get whatever you Patriots put in the boxes. Your boxes raise our morale each and every time and we thank you for what you do."
Iraq: "My Soldiers are spread out everywhere, a few are in some remote areas. I'm hoping that with the additional care packages I'll receive, I will be able to send them a few extra to give out to others in those locations as well."
Iraq (Marine Corps): Thank you much for all of the care boxes that you guys have shipped so far. The Marines/Sailors are very grateful for what you have sent and I have received many phone calls letting me know it brightened their day. ... wanted to let you know how greatly appreciative we are of your efforts. I hope you have a great day and please tell all involved that they are the best in America!!
Mideast (Army): - We received all 47 boxes from you and the DFW Metroplex Levi Strauss employees today ... The boxes came at just the right time. With the weather really warming up, many have been going through hygiene items quicker than usual and this really helped everyone out.
Other items that always go quickly are the zipp fizz, clif bars and room deodorizers.
Thank you again for your continued support and generosity.
At Sea: "Thank you so much for the care packages and the calling cards ... Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas made my day ... You made our job much easier. It’s always great to know that someone back home cares about us. Our Marines and Sailors put their 100% effort to complete their missions ... We have no days off during the deployment. We have to find our resting time here and there whenever we can. Thank you for giving us motivation to continue to do our job and protect our great nation. God bless!"
Afghanistan: "Hey Angels, We got your packages the other day and it made our Soldiers day! Nothing like some love from TX, thanks for your support. I continue to be amazed by people like you who have continued supporting us these many long years ... Thanks again for the support, this is my 4th combat deployment ... its nice to know that even though we aren't in the news anymore we aren't forgotten."
Afghanistan: "You must not have heard, but we got word here that the US will be supporting several locations in Afghanistan into 2026, and this happens to be one of those locations. "
Iraq: "Thank you again for all the support you have shown us. My unit loved the packages it really meant a lot to us. Your the Best!!!"
Mideast: "We received your boxes earlier this week. I must say that all of us are completely overwhelmed by your thoughtfulness, kindness and generosity. Your gesture proves that there are still people that care about us and what we do. We stay quite busy but will surely enjoy all the items that you sent at every available opportunity. Words cannot express how thankful we are. Thank you again for your support and generosity on behalf of the entire Operations Division of Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve."
Africa: "we are a 12 man Special Forces team deployed in (undisclosed ) Africa. Basic Necessities from food to razors and toiletries would be greatly appreciated .... we don't get MRE's or anything like that".
Iraq: "We had your additional boxes arrive today! The boys were ecstatic over the goodies. We distributed the letters amongst the men and many of them have the letters hung up in their rooms."
Eastern Europe: "Dear Airborne Angel Cadets, Want to take a moment and express my sincere gratitude toward your organization for supporting my Troops in Eastern Europe. Words cannot sum up the difference your support means not only to me but to them. These packages give a sense of knowing someone cares ... care that will be remembered for a life time."
Iraq: "Please share our appreciation with those who partner with you, the schools, churches, private organizations and individual people. Collectively, the items brought joy to our faces."
